Baby Nursery Ideas - Part 5

 Pretty in Pink

Want to dress your nursery in lovely shades of pink? Go ahead and get frilly! But remember that even a room aiming for femininity needs relief from complete saturation. Mixing unexpected fabrics can create the perfect balance. A sample of green gingham fabric served as inspiration for this room, and inspired the homeowner to rip out carpet and paint the floors beneath to match the material. Hot pink gingham provides a punch of color and contrast with the room's paler shades. Blue floral fabric surprises, and helps created a cozy and colorful feel. The homeowner was so happy with her coordinating fabrics, she purchased extra yardage to create a comforter when her daughter graduates to a twin bed.

 Personalized Nursery

Break away from boy's room bland by splashing around some bright colors. Robin's-egg blue walls against crisp white trim establish a strong, simple background, while plush carpet with large pattern loops creates a playful contrast. The same bold colors make an appearance on the whimsical wall letters.

 Nursery with Painted Ceiling

Cheerful yellows and heavenly blues beam brightly in this Beatrix Potter-inspired nursery. White picket fencing gives this crib cottage style, and garden finials grace the bedposts. With a cloud-dusted sky mural covering the ceiling and extending partway down the walls, this nursery works well for a baby boy or girl.
