Christmas with the Beekman Boys

Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell's old farm has fueled a reality show and a line of handmade goods. Their holiday décor is definitely something to cheer about.

After helping a local farmer with their herd of goats, Ridge says he smelled a business opportunity. The new venture — called Beekman 1802 — started by making chemical-free goat's milk soap, then branched out into artisanal cheese. After just two short years, business is booming — with a retail website, a store in Sharon Springs named 1802 Mercantile, even a docuseries on The Cooking Channel called The Fabulous Beekman Boys that follows Ridge and Kilmer-Purcell's farming adventures.

The Beekman Mansion

The home, a meticulously restored, 5,000-square-foot Georgian historic landmark that sits on 60 acres, was built in 1802 by a wealthy county judge. "Josh and I knew immediately that we wanted it," Ridge says. "Originally, it was just going to be our weekend escape from Manhattan. We had no idea that it would forever change our lives."
